Recover Deleted Whatsapp Chats

HOW TO RECOVER DELETED WHATSAPP CHATS?

Hello there!
Deleted your WhatsApp chats accidentally? Well, You can get them back by following some simple steps. I'll show you how can you do it with ease. Please be careful with the steps, read every step properly then only go for it otherwise you may loss the chats forever! But before going any further we need to remember some things:
  • WhatsApp takes backup of your chats everyday at 4 AM and stores it in WhatsApp folder in either inter memory or external SD card.
  • WhatsAp chats that are too old can not be recovered.
Depending upon how much old chats you need to recover, we will specialize the process in to two forms :

Chats deleted in last 24 hours or less :

  1. First of all we need to see when your last backup was taken. For that, open WhatsApp in your android device and from chats chats screen go to Settings > Chat Settings.

  2. You will able to see last backup date and time under Backup Conversations. (NOTE : DO NOT TOUCH BACKUP CONVERSATIONS, It will take backup of your current chats and you will not be able to restore any chats deleted before that).

  3. If you want to recover chats deleted after the last backup time, you can do it by simply uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp. (NOTE : You can not restore the chats or messages that were deleted from your phone before the last backup was created).

  4. Uninstall WhatsApp from your device and reinstall it. You will be asked if you want to restore the chat history that was found. Tap RESTORE.

Chats deleted in last 7 Days or less :

  1. If you do not want to lose your currents chats, you can create a manual backup by going through : WhatsApp > Menu > Settings > Chat Settings > Backup Conversations. If you do not want current chats backup, you should directly proceed to step 3.

  2. This manual backup file will be saved as "msgstore.db.crypt7" or "msgstore.db.crypt8" in your /sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases folder. Save this file as "msgstore.db.crypt7.current" or "msgstore.db.crypt8.current" (depending on the original file extension) so you do not get it confused with other backup files during the restoration process.

  3. Uninstall WhatsApp by going through Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Uninstall.

  4. Now open databases folder in your file manager. (sdcard>WhatsApp >Databases). Choose which file you want to restore depending upon dates included in database file names.

  5. Rename that file from "msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt7" to "msgstore.db.crypt7" or from "msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt8" to "msgstore.db.crypt8" (depending on the original file extension).

  6. Now install WhatsApp. When you're asked to restore the chat history, choose RESTORE. After completing installation successfully, you will be able to see your restored chats in your chats screen.

  7. If you want to revert the restoration, change the backup filename to what it was, rename "msgstore.db.crypt7.current" to "msgstore.db.crypt7" or "msgstore.db.crypt8.current" to "msgstore.db.crypt8" and follow these steps again.

Rooting Your Android Device

Know the process of rooting any android device with appropriate tools.

Hello there! Welcome to this tutorial about rooting your android device. Through the post we'll keep it simple and straight so that you can follow up perfectly if you are new to rooting. Let's first take a quick overview of what actually 'Rooting' is.

  • Rooting is a process allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem.
  • Rooting enables all the user-installed applications to run privileged commands that are typically unavailable to the devices in their stock configuration.
  • Rooting is required for more advanced and potentially dangerous operations including modifying or deleting system files.
  • A typical rooting installation also installs the Super user application, which supervises applications that are granted root or super user rights. A secondary operation, unlocking the device's boot loader verification, is required to remove or replace the installed Operating System.

What is Rooting?

  • Rooting is a device hack that provides users with unrestricted access to the entire file system of their android mobile devices.
  • Rooting is a process allowing users of smart phones, tablets, and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem.

Why is it called "Rooting"?

  • The term "root" comes from the Unix/Linux world and is used to describe a user who has "superuser" rights or permissions to all the files and programs in the software OS (Operating System). The root user, because they have "superuser" privileges, can essentially change or modify any of the software code on the device.

Advantages of Rooting :

1. Be a master of your device : Rooting your android device gives you administrative rights on your device. After rooting a device you can access system files and modify them.
2. Get rid of "Bloatware" : Bloatwares are the software or Apps which are pre-installed on your android device by your device manufacturer and which are of no use at all. These kind of Apps take large amount of RAM and storage on your phone. You can not uninstall them until you root your device. Rooting allows you to remove these bloatware from your device and free up RAM and also increase the storage capacity.
3. Customize your device : Customize your phone the way you want with the various kind of Themes, Interfaces, Animation and Styles. Installing Custom ROMs will make your device unique and you can install 3rd party applications to make your phone rocking!
4. Install Apps to SD card : You would wonder if you can install any app to your SD card or move apps to SD card from phone memory. Well, rooting will help you in this too! After rooting your phone you can install almost all Apps to your external SD card and thus you will have lots of freed up space on internal storage and so the faster system.
5. Backup and Battery : After rooting your device you can install custom bootloader to take complete backup of your device as an 'image' file. You can restore the device as the same state as it was earlier anytime. With a rooted phone your battery performance will be noticeably increased and you will have excellent battery life.

I Hope i could make it through! This is all about what is rooting and how it can be helpful to you. Now we will proceed to actual tutorial about how to Root your android device. Click on "Rooting" tab on the top or click on link below.

How to make your device battery last longer

Make your android phone battery healthy and long lasting!

Troubled with drained up battery? Here are some useful and effective methods to save your battery life when you're away or even for daily usage. Although it depends on your battery type and its capacity, there are some ways you can save power.

Usage of your phone is also one of the important aspects of your battery performance. If your are an average user who uses phone for general purposes like dialing and receiving calls and messages, mailing, making notes etc then you would be okay with phones having 1000mAh to 1500mAh supply of power. If you are above an average user who is an internet lover, a gaming fan, WhatsApp and Facebook addict and one who likes to listen music and watch videos, you will need a phone which supports at least 2000mAh supply of power.

So, let's discuss the factors affecting your battery performance and the solutions you can apply to your device for long lasting usage without rooting your phone or installing any 3rd party Apps.

  • Brightness : Brightness of your phone makes appreciable effect on your battery. Display of your screen takes up to 5% to 20% of your whole power. Maintain the brightness of your phone at minimum suitable level. You don't need to have so much illuminated screen, you can always reduce the level on your own. Also, do not set brightness on auto as it might be higher than you actually need. You can adjust brightness level directly from notification panel OR going through Settings> Display> Brightness.

  • Wifi, Data connection and Bluetooth : Internet connection through wifi and mobile data connection may take up to 20% to 50% of your battery. As you might not need to be connected 24hrs a day, turn OFF wifi or data connection when you don't need it.

These services require lots of power supply. You can find this log of your battery usage at
Settings> Battery. Data connection through high speed mobile data like 3G and 4G consumes lots of power. Also turn off GPS or Location Services when you don't require it. Turning off Auto Rotation and Bluetooth when not needed will also help increasing battery performance.

  • Unwanted Widgets and Apps : Widgets on your phone screen require services and processes to run in background. These processes do not usually get your attention but they are effectively responsible for your battery usage. These widgets may include Temperature Services, Weather Forecasting, Searching Shortcuts, Live Wallpapers, Screensavers etc. If you are not so interested in weather forecasting and similar services, you can remove them from your screen. This will reduce number of services running in background and eating your battery. Remove unwanted Apps from your device as they also use space on your phone and some of them may need to run processes in background.

  • Silent Mode and Vibrate : Putting your phone in silent mode will turn off volume for all type of notifications. If you always keep your phone handy, you can keep it on ring. Vibrating takes more power than ringing so unless it is strongly needed, do not use vibrate for receiving calls, messages, notifications, touch vibration etc.

  • Auto-Update and Auto-Backup : Choose when to update your Apps and turn off Auto update for Apps like Google Play Store and other Google Apps or any other 3rd party Apps. Updating might not be always much needed for all Apps. Apps excluding the ones which you use very oftenly do not require to be updated all the time. You can manually update the Apps whenever you need so auto update is also an effective factor for battery usage. Though keeping your Apps will help you saving battery as updated Apps may have good battery optimization.

Auto backup is one of the handy features of an android device but it also takes good enough power to backup your all data to External storage or to Cloud storage. Turning off auto backup will remarkably help saving your battery power. Click here to see how to use Auto backup feature to automatically backup your device media to Google.

  • Gestures and Animations : Smart Gestures run background processes all the time to detect screen gestures even when you don't use it. So if you don't actually use this feature, you should turn it off. Animations feature is one of effective battery drainers. Get rid of the unwanted Animations from Developer Options . Developer Options give capability to handle the animation properties. Turn off all animations you do not require. You can find Developer Options in Settings if not then you may need to enable it. To enable Developer Options , Go to Settings> About Phone> Build number OR find something similar to About in your device settings. Tapping continuously on Build Number (usually 7 times) will unhide Developer Options and you will find it in your settings.

  • Lock Screen Timeout : Set timeout length at minimum possible duration and at most practical to you. Having long timeout duration keeps your phone awake longer than you need. And longer it is awake more power is consumed. Adjust your Sleep duration from Settings> Display> Sleep

  • Make it Dark! : It may sound strange but if your phone has AMOLED display, making your screen wallpapers and themes darker will help you increase your battery life. AMOLED technology do not require backlit display, so for producing black dot it does not actually require to illuminate the spot. This means darker your image is, less power you require for generating the same.

I hope this tutorial may help you increase your battery performance with some self care methods. Suggestions and Comments are welcome!

Thank You!

Charge your android device faster!

Charge up your phone battery faster than usual!

Gotta hurry? Don't have much time to charge up your phone before leaving home? Here i will show you how you can charge your phone as fast as you can when every second counts!

You may have been facing troubles regarding the battery usage of your device and it's charging time. Sometimes you may hope that you could make your phone charged up with just a clap! Of course, practically it is not possible, BUT there are some ways to get rid of this. Try these methods and tips to reduce the time period it takes to charge up your device:

  • Turn ON Airplane Mode : It may sound weird and funny but it is one of the most effective methods to boost your phone. Airplane mode will disable cellular services of your device including Wifi and Bluetooth. (Wifi and Bluetooth can be disabled separately) This feature is useful if you are willing to charge your phone faster and you're OK with disabling cellular services during charging. Airplane mode can have different alias like Flight Mode, Airoplane Mode, Offline Mode and Standalone Mode. Enable this mode when you put your phone to charging. You can turn on Airplane mode through Notification Panel OR Settings> Wireless & Networks> More..> Airplane mode.

  • Turn OFF Vibrate : Turning off vibrate will help you somehow. It is suggested to not to use touch vibrate and notification vibrate as it does noteworthy battery usage. You can put your phone in silent mode and turning off all possible vibrate modes.

  • Use appropriate Wall Charger : Using wall charger instead of charging through PC via USB cable is also preferable. One should use the charger which is recommended by manufacturer for the particular device. Using improper charger can reduce your battery performance.

  • Do Not Touch! : Letting your device be in standby mode will also increase capability of your phone to get charged faster. Do not use your phone while it is being charged.

Automatically Backup your device media to Google!

Backing up your photos & videos automatically to Google+

Hello there!
Want your phone to take back up of your photos and videos by its self? Google makes it easier by providing you online storage facility and android apps to access the media through phone! You can automatically back up your photos and videos to Google+ by turning on Auto Backup feature in Goggle’s Photos App. This can include photos you take with your device’s camera, photos which you download to your phone, and photos saved by other apps, like WhatsApp and Hangouts.

Sharing is Private by default
Photos and videos which are automatically backed up are private unless you choose to share them.

Turn Auto Backup on or off:

  1. Open the Photos App in your Device.
  2. Touch the menu button  and select Settings.
  3. Touch Auto Backup and switch the toggle On or Off.

Media and Storage:

Size of the media:
You can back up an unlimited number of standard size photos and videos for free (standard size means that photos are 2048px or less on the longest edge and videos are less than 15 minutes long and have maximum 1080p resolution). Auto Backup is set to back up at full size by default.

Google Drive storage quota:
If you have your back up setting set to
full size, then photos larger than 2048px and videos longer than 15 minutes or saved at a resolution higher than 1080p count against your free Google Drive storage quota. You'll see a notification. If you run out of storage and as you start approaching the free storage limit. Google will automatically switch to backing up your media at standard size.

Change how & when Auto Backup photos & videos are uploaded

After you've turned Auto Backup ON, you can manage how and when photos and videos from your device are uploaded. You can see the status of  your Auto Backup uploads by opening the Photos app.

  1. Open the Photos App.
  2. Touch the menu button select Setting > Auto Backup.
  3. From this screen you can change these settings.

Photo size

Full size is the default setting. This setting uploads your photos and videos with their original image resolutions (up to 100 MB for photos or 1080p for videos) and counts against your Google Drive storage quota, which is shown under "Full size" when you touch this setting. If you have your back up setting set to full size and you run out of storage, google will automatically switch to backing up at standard size.

Standard size photos are great for sharing on the web. If you choose this setting, your photos will be resized so that the longest edge of the photo does not exceed 2048 pixels.

Back up photos

Over Wi-Fi or mobile network uploads photos when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network or your mobile network. ( Uploading over your mobile network will use your data connection and charges from your service provider may apply).

Over Wi-Fi only uploads photos when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Back up videos

Over Wi-Fi or mobile network uploads videos when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network or your mobile network. ( Uploading over your mobile network will use your data connection and charges from your service provider may apply) .

Back up Local Folders

You can automatically back up your Android device's photo and video folders, including photos you've downloaded, screenshots you've taken, or photos saved by other apps.

Roaming

Enabling Roaming allows photos and videos to upload while you're roaming on a mobile data network. ( Uploading over your mobile network will use your data connection and charges from your service provider may apply).

While charging only

If you choose While charging only, photos and videos will be uploaded only when your device is connected to an external power source. This setting can help you manage your device's battery life when using Auto Backup.

Back up all

When you touch Back up all, photos and videos on your device will be backed up. If your settings preferences are not satisfied at the time you touch Back up all, the photos and videos will remain in the backup queue until your settings preferences are met.
For example, if you have your Auto Backup set to only backup when your device is charging and you select Back up all, your photos and videos will begin backing up only when your device is being charged.

If you sign out of the Google+ app, your backup queue is not saved. Any photos and videos that have not been backed up will only back up once you sign into the Google+ app and touch Back up all again.
