How to block ads in android without root

HOW TO BLOCK ANNOYING ADS BY THE APPS AND BROWSERS?

Hello!

One of my friends was too much restless because of the ads showing up in the various apps and the browsers. Ads marketing are so much popular in android environment but YES they are annoying. They can agitate you with their frequency of showing up as well as the content! Good thing is that you can get rid of this problem.We'll keep it straight & simple to see how can you block unwanted ads in your android device.

1. Download Adblock Plus :

• Adblock Plus is one of the most trusted and very effective app to remove the ads showing up in your phone. It is an open source project so it is available for all. You can download this app from the official website by clicking the link below. Before downloading, make sure that your android device is allowed to install the unknown apps. To verify that go to Settings> Security> Unknown source. Make sure 'Unknown sources' field is ticked.

• After downloading the app, complete installation process. After the successful installation, you will be shown up the following screen.

• Make sure that all options are as same as the screen above. If you're phone is rooted, that's all you need to do.

• If your phone is not rooted, or you don't know what rooting is and you haven't done anything wrong with your phone then you need to do few more steps.

(1) If you're using WiFi connection :

1. Go to Settings> Wi-Fi.
2. Long press the WiFi network name which is your home network or for which you want to block ads. You have to do the same for all the wireless network you use.






3. Tap Modify network.
4. Following screen will be shown up.






5. Scroll down to the end of the list and tick 'Show advanced options'. There will be two more options 'proxy' and 'IPv4 settings'. Tap on Proxy and select 'Manual'.






6. Yet another options will be prompted for proxy settings. In 'Proxy hostname' field, type 'localhost' and in 'Proxy port' type '2020'. Consider the screen displayed below.

(2) If you're using Mobile data Connection :

1. For this option it will be best if your phone is rooted. But though you can the same method for this connections. Go to Settings> Networks (more..)> Mobile networks> Access Point Names.


2. Tap on the selected access point. 'Edit access point' screen will be opened. Scroll until you find field 'Proxy' and 'Port'.


3. Tap on the 'Proxy' and type 'localhost' in the given field and for 'Port' type '2020'.

• If you want to remove the notification symbol from the notification bar, open the app and tick 'Hide icon' option. Then go to Settings>Apps>Adblock Plus. Deselect 'Show notification' option and click 'OK' on the following prompt.

Sync Your Android Device to PC Wirelessly With AirDroid App

HOW TO TRANSFER FILES AND SYNC DATA BETWEEN YOUR PC AND PHONE?

Today it's about transferring files between an android device and a computer connected together in the same wireless network or even not having WiFi network. I'm sure that sometimes you may have felt it painful to transfer large files from PC to your phone with a USB cable connection because of the long waiting time. So here's a wonderful android app called AirDroid which cuts off your waiting time and also provides some cool features including easy sync between your phone and PC. So through this post we'll see what you can do with AirDroid.

INSTALLING AND CONNECTING :

1. After downloading and installing AirDroid, turn on WiFi and open AirDroid app in your device. Tap 'Start' on the main screen of the app.
   
   
   
   
   


2. After tapping 'Start', you will get following screen on the app. It displays link http://web.airdroid.com and an IP address below that.
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Open a browser in your PC and in URL box, type the given IP address in your app screen.
   
                  
   


4. Hit Enter after typing the URL in your browser. Your browser will show the following screen and in your app there will be a message requesting your permission to be connected to PC. Tap 'Accept'.
   
   
   
   
   


5. After 'Accepting' the request from your browser, now you'll be shown this screen on your PC.
   

TRANSFERRING FILES :

1. Transferring files from PC to phone is very easy thanks to 'Drag & Drop Files' widget on the screen. All you have to do is pick up your desired file and drag it to this widget OR you can select files and folders from the icons at right side of the widget.
   
   
   
   
   


2. To transfer files from your phone to computer, simply 'Files' icon on your browser screen. It will open your device's file manager. Here you can browse and select your files which are needed to transfer to PC and click on 'Download' button at the upper right corner of file manager window.

USING CAMERA :

1. You can take pictures from your laptop or desktop through your device. AirDroid provides this feature through your computer's browser. Click on 'Camera' icon in the browser's desktop. A Camera window will be shown with the buttons like capture, LED on/off, pause, full-screen, rotate etc. (NOTE: Quality of the picture is limited and depends on the connection speed and other factors).
   
   
   
   
   

OTHER FEATURES :

1. AirDroid provides the features for viewing your phone's media files in your computer's browser. Click on 'Photos', 'Music' and 'Videos' to access Pictures, Music files and Video files respectively.
